Common Questions

Do I have to join anything?

No. There is no membership requirement, no sign up sheet at the door, and no expectation that attending leads to joining something. You can come every Sunday for a year and never put your name on anything.

The worry underneath this question is usually about a slow escalation. You come once, then you are on a list, then someone is asking you to lead something. That is a real pattern at some churches and it is worth naming.

At Hue.Church attending is the whole ask. There is no membership class you have to complete to belong in the room, and no tier system where regulars get something attendees do not. If you never join anything, you are not a partial member of this church. You are a person who comes to this church.

There are things you can opt into. Groups meet during the week and are the main way people actually get to know each other rather than just attending together. There are teams that make Sunday happen. Both are genuinely optional and both stay available whenever you want them, which for a lot of people is months in.

If you do tell us you are visiting, someone will follow up once. That is a short message checking whether you had a good experience and whether you have questions. It is not a funnel, and not replying ends it.

The reason we run it this way is that pressure produces attendance, not actual belonging. People stay somewhere because they want to be there, and that is not something you can rush someone into.
