Is there a different dress code for men and women at church?

Some churches do have gendered expectations, spoken or otherwise. Skirts rather than trousers, covered shoulders, no hats indoors. If you grew up somewhere like that, or you have heard that it is the norm, it is a sensible thing to check before walking in.

We do not have any of that. There is no rule about sleeves, hemlines, hats, hair, tattoos, or anything else. On a normal Sunday you will see women in jeans, in leggings, in work clothes, in dresses, and men in shorts, hoodies, and the occasional button down. Nobody sorted themselves into those categories on purpose and nobody is comparing.

For anyone worried about the opposite problem, that you will be underdressed, the practical floor is genuinely just clean and comfortable. There is no version of casual here that reads as disrespectful.

The one piece of practical advice that applies to everyone equally is to bring a layer in winter, because the room can run cool.

The reason we hold this loosely is that a dress code mostly filters for people who already knew the code. That is the opposite of what this church is for.
